Capstone Health Alliance announces new Partnership with Colonial Health Alliance

Asheville, North Carolina, February 9, 2015 – Capstone Health Alliance proudly announced its new aggregation partnership with Colonial Health Alliance. Located in Hagerstown, Maryland, Colonial Health Alliance is a regional group purchasing organization made up of six acute care hospitals and over 150 non-acute affiliates. Colonial Health Alliance works with its owner-members to provide cost savings and collaboration opportunities.

Of the partnership, Mike Ewing, Executive Director of Colonial Health Alliance says “We are excited to join Capstone and provide our members with improved channels of value. Regional aggregation is not the same today as it was 10 years ago. The life cycle of our traditional business model has matured to the extent to which it makes sense to partner with an organization of greater scale for core supply chain contracting while shifting our resources to focus on unique and non-traditional cost savings initiatives. Capstone is a well-run organization and we look forward to continued savings for our Colonial Health Alliance membership.”

Tim Bugg, President & CEO of Capstone Health Alliance, says “We have exchanged ideas and followed the progress of Colonial Health Alliance for many years as they have continued to provide value to an engaged membership. Capstone welcomes the chance to work closer with the Colonial systems in bringing additional savings opportunities and engaging members in shared initiatives to improve cost, quality, and outcomes.”
