Capstone Health Alliance announces new member – Thomas Health System

Asheville, North Carolina, February 25, 2015 – Capstone Health Alliance is proud to announce the addition of Thomas Health System of West Virginia. Thomas Health System is comprised of Thomas Memorial Hospital, a 260-bed acute care facility in South Charleston, and Saint Francis Hospital, a 119-bed acute care facility located in Charleston, West Virginia. The two non-profit facilities strive to bring innovative and cost-effective health care to the Kanawha Valley.

Kevin L. Jividien, System Director of Supply Chain & Orthopedic Service Line says “This agreement with Capstone Health Alliance will allow the Thomas Health System to enjoy the buying power and quality advantages of a large IDN, while maintaining our identity as a community and faith based provider of care.”

On January 1, 2007, Thomas Health System, Inc., purchased Saint Francis Hospital. The health system was formed to forge a partnership based on the strength of two established hospitals, Thomas Memorial and Saint Francis. Each hospital is governed by its own board of trustees. An additional board of trustees—made up of members of both hospital boards—oversees Thomas Health System, Inc. The main focus, within the Thomas Health System, is to maintain the highest standard of service, while continuing the missions of both hospitals of being the first choice for those in need of healthcare.
